HECM Trends – February 2017

In February, HECM endorsements experienced a similar drop from January as in 2015, but starting out significantly lower than Jan 2015 and a significant gain in Feb 2016 put the month below either of the recent comparisons on our HECM Trends report.

That being said, there are always opportunities if we look around the country:

  • Portland jumped up to tie Las Vegas at 50% growth for the first two month, albeit on lower volume of 45 loans
  • An Ohio zip code (43082) broke into the top 10 for the first time in recent memory, with 12 loans after just 1 in Jan-Feb 2016
  • And a Laguna Niguel, CA zip code (92677) is leading the MCA growth chart by the slimmest of margins, taking over from a neighboring Mission Viejo zip code that held the spot several times in recent years
