Diving Deeper – HECM Trends November 2013

HECM endorsements were up 15.8% Jan-Nov 2013 compared to the same period in 2012, but some places were much bigger winners. If you want to put your sales and marketing efforts into the highest best markets, take a closer look with us at this most recent HECM Trends report.

  • California continues to lead the way with the most volume nationally, but Arizona is experiencing a renaissance of volume, up 61% from 2012 to 1,443 loans
  • Volume in Arizona is concentrated in Maricopa county, up 70%, and makes up more than half of all loans in the state
  • On the flip side, if you want to succeed in Los Angeles county you’re better off targeting cities other than Los Angeles itself.  Of the 136 cities in Los Angeles county that produced at least one HECM endorsement last year, 24 of them produced more loans per age eligible homeowner household than LA proper.
